How To Make the Most of Fall!

Syracuse and Central New York really shine in the fall. It’s the stuff of Instagram dreams! You’ve got beautiful views, great weather and so much to explore. You won’t want to miss out on all the new experiences, and to make it easier, we’ve pulled together some of the ways to make the most of it. Check out some of the downtown and local highlights!

Explore Downtown

Downtown Syracuse has so much to offer. There are all kinds of shops, restaurants and public art works and parks that everyone can enjoy. Take some time this fall to get off the hill and explore the city. The Connective Corridor, Centro Bus Route 443, is always free and brings you to some of the best downtown spots. The MOST

Travel back in time or shoot into space with the exhibits at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology. With multiple interactive exhibits and an IMAX theater, everyone can find something fun to do. It’s right in the heart of Armory Square surrounded by some of the best restaurants and shops. Syracuse Stage

If you love theater or experiencing something new, check out Syracuse Stage! It’s a short walk from campus and features amazing artists, including SU Drama students! This Fall is full of fan favorites and thought provoking stories. Be sure to see ‘Thoughts of a Colored Man,’ ‘A Chorus Line,’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ just to highlight a few. Farmers Market

It’s not Fall without a fall harvest! Spend a Saturday morning at the CNY Regional Farmers Market! You’ll find local produce, flowers, dairy products and meats for great prices. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, it’s fun to stroll around and learn more about local business and see all of the things Central New York has to offer.

Experience Nature

Central New York is known for its incredible scenery. With so much fall foliage to appreciate and local and state parks close by, it’s so easy to plan a day outside and take it all in.

SU Outdoor Adventure Trips

The Barnes Center at The Arch has some amazing fall Outdoor Adventure Trips planned! They’re the perfect way to explore the outdoors with friends. Transportation and additional perks are all included in the program fee. You won’t want to miss out on Apple Picking and Horseback Riding! Explore On Your Own

If you’re more into planning for yourself, it’s really easy to research popular parks and hiking trails close by. There are a ton of Onondaga County Parks that are full of incredible views and experiences for everyone. If you’re feeling even more adventurous, check out some of the state parks nearby. Popular parks include Clark Reservation, Chittenango Falls, Green Lakes, Letchworth and Watkins Glen. All have incredible fall views and are a short drive away.
