This is an exciting day for the ACC, Syracuse University and our student-athletes, students, alumni and fans. Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley and Southern Methodist University are top-tier institutions with tremendous academic profiles that align with the outstanding member universities that comprise the ACC. Aside from their academic excellence, these universities have historic athletic programs that are highly competitive in all sports, with exceptional strength in the Olympic sports. Expanding the ACC to include these three institutions will strengthen our conference and enhance our position among the elite power conferences in the NCAA. I am excited for what the future holds and look forward to how our institutions will collaborate academically and compete athletically.
