Student Organization Challenge Ties Bonus Funding to Donor Goals
Ten student organizations and club sports teams are competing in this year’s Student Organization Challenge, an annual fundraising effort in which groups can earn bonus funding by attracting donors. The challenge runs through Nov. 8, and gifts of any amount count toward the goals.
Every dollar raised goes to the organization’s designated project or initiative, which can include leadership development, community service, performances, competitions and educational experiences. Participating groups include performance groups, service organizations and club sports teams, many of which rely on philanthropic giving in addition to University support to bring their biggest ideas to life.
Allen Groves, senior vice president and chief student experience officer, and the Student Experience team have committed more than $3,000 in challenge funding for organizations that reach donor milestones.
How It Works
If all 10 organizations each reach at least 44 unique donors, every group will receive an additional $100 in challenge funding.
Organizations can also earn funding through competitive milestones:
- First to reach 150 unique donors: $250
- Second to reach 150 unique donors: $200
- Most unique donors by Nov. 8: $700
- Second-most unique donors by Nov. 8: $500
