University Employees Urged to Leave Campus by 3:30 p.m. Today, July 10, Due to Severe Weather, Tornado Watch
Syracuse University employees are encouraged to leave campus no later than 3:30 p.m. today in anticipation of severe weather due to a Tornado Watch in effect for Central New York. Showers and thunderstorms are expected, with some expected to be severe and producing heavy rain.
Essential employees, including those in facilities, public safety and dining, will remain on campus until their shift ends as directed by their supervisors. Students, faculty and staff who remain on campus should stay indoors during the threat of severe weather. Shaw Dining Center will remain open for students on campus.
Any in-person classes currently underway and through the remainder of the evening are cancelled.
The University will continue to monitor the weather and communicate any further updates should they become available.
In the event of continued inclement weather and if additional schedule changes become necessary, updated information will be announced via the University’s emergency broadcast notification system and will carry the notice SU WEATHER ALERT.
