Head down to the lower level of Hendricks Chapel and the first thing you’ll notice is People’s Place Café, the only student-run coffee shop on campus! People’s Place was started in 1971 amid protests against the Kent State University massacre as a small coffee machine that nourished protestors. Over the last 50 years, the café has continued to be an important place of community for students.
