University Named One of Golf Digest’s Best Colleges for Casual Golfers
Syracuse University has been named one of the 10 best colleges for casual golfers by Golf Digest, highlighting the University’s commitment to providing students with accessible opportunities to enjoy the game beyond varsity competition. Golf Digest is a multiplatform publication widely known for its golf course ranking lists, both in the United States and worldwide.
The list recognizes institutions where students can enjoy golf as part of their college experience without playing on a varsity team. The publication highlights Syracuse for its student golf benefits at Drumlins Country Club, the University-owned facility located about a mile from Main Campus.
All undergraduate students can play the public golf course at Drumlins for free during the academic year, with complimentary club rentals also available. These benefits make it easy for students of all skill levels to get outside, learn the game and spend time with friends.
Golf is just one of the many ways students can take advantage of Drumlins. During the academic year, undergraduates can also play tennis for free and enjoy seasonal activities such as cross-country skiing. The facility also offers opportunities to connect and unwind off campus, including dining at Bistro 1926 (which accepts ’Cuse Cash), attending weekly trivia nights and enjoying weekend brunch.
Getting to Drumlins is convenient, too, with a fare-free Centro bus running daily between College Place and the facility. There is also ample free parking on site.
Drumlins Country Club provides students with opportunities to stay active, explore new interests and enjoy experiences beyond the classroom. The recognition from Golf Digest emphasizes how SU makes recreational golf and other activities accessible to its undergraduate community.
