Clothesline Project: Breaks Silence, Builds Culture of Change

Manifesting through a display of T-shirts decorated by individuals impacted by interpersonal violence, for over 10 years the Clothesline Project has been an annual beacon of support each April during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.

Highlighting the continuous pursuit to grow empowerment and support for impacted individuals, the exhibition welcomes survivors and supporters to break silence through creative expression, sharing experiences, education and uniting across the campus community.

“Our goal in coordinating the display for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month is to increase awareness of the impact of interpersonal violence within our community, but most importantly, it is to acknowledge and honor the healing journey and strength of survivors to share their experiences with us through this display,” shares Shannon Hefti, Barnes Center at The Arch assistant director of health education and outreach.

Clothesline Project

The 2023 Clothesline Project exhibition is now on display and available until Friday, April 14, 2023, in the Schine Student Center Atrium. The campus community is invited to stop by the display, create a T-shirt and explore educational materials.
