Tuesday, Feb. 25 marks Syracuse University’s first-ever Micron Day! Micron’s 100 billion dollar investment plan is expected to create 50,000 jobs in Central New York and completely change the community’s economic landscape. With the help of Micron Day, Micron and the University aim to work together to show students and community members the career opportunities that will arise from this transformative project.

So, what can students expect from this event?

Micron Day will kick off with insights from Syracuse University alumni who now work at Micron. This panel discussion will be a unique opportunity for students to learn about the company and consider if Micron could be a good fit for them post-graduation.

Then, Micron leaders will take the floor for insights on the company’s supply chain innovations, AI in gaming and new career opportunities.

Micron Day will close out with a conversation between J. Michael Haynie, Syracuse University’s vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and innovation, and high-ranking Micron leaders April Arnzen and Scott Gatzemeier. The leaders will talk through how Micron will aid Central New York through this development.

Throughout the day, University college representatives and other community partners will engage with students and local community members to discuss ways to get involved with Micron. They will emphasize that there is no shortage of training programs and other local opportunities for students to explore.

Micron Day will take place at the Schine Student Center on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The Panasci Lounge and Rooms 304A, B and C will host the event. You can RSVP for this event online or contact sumicron@syr.edu.
