You might have been to an Orange After Dark (OAD) event before (if you haven’t you really should.) But did you know that those amazing late-night activities are planned by the help of students just like you? The OAD Event Board is made up of students who love to spread fun all across campus. And guess what? They’re accepting applications! If you have ideas for future OAD Events, want to get involved on campus or learn new skills, you should apply!
Still not convinced on submitting an application? Here’s what members Jackie Murrer ’21 and Kaleigh Young ’20 have to say:
“I first became involved in OAD as a freshman, first starting off as a volunteer and honestly joined as a volunteer because some of the events, like Escape the Mystery Room and Dave and Buster’s, looked really cool, and as a volunteer, you got to go for free. I never really thought about joining the event board, but I’m really glad I did. The reason I joined the board was because not only do you get to be involved first hand with deciding the cool events OAD does each semester, but you also get to work with some of the most creative and friendly students and staff here on campus. Along the way, you also gain different skills that help a lot with classes and prepares you for life after college. It also allowed me to cross paths with my now best friend and roommate, which would never have happened if it wasn’t for OAD. I will forever be grateful for that. OAD, for me, is an organization that has helped me make influential connections here on campus and truly this campus feel smaller. I may be a little biased, but I really feel that everyone should be a part of this program and this event board.” – Kaleigh Young ’20, College of Arts and Sciences
“Applying for the OAD Event Board is a great idea for anyone interested in getting involved on campus and helping bring fun and exciting things to SU! I applied to the board because I went to multiple OAD events my freshman year and wanted to be a part of planning all of the fun! I wanted to make my mark on campus as well as to make new friends and learn more about time management and event planning. Since joining the event board, I’ve helped plan and put on many events, and I’ve had so much fun! Being a part of this Board is an amazing opportunity that I implore students to apply for!” – Jackie Murrer ’21, College of Arts and Sciences
