William and Mary Women’s Chorus
The William & Mary Women’s Chorus (WMWC) was founded in 1923The ensemble consists of approximately 40 undergraduate women, both non-music majors and music majorsWe rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30 – 5:30Auditions are held every fall (although transfer and exchange students can audition in the spring)It is a year-long academic course yielding one credit hour per semester; it is also a recognized student organizationThe chorus sings four to five concerts in the fall semester and five to seven in the springEvery semester the group sings for a Candlelight Concert at the historic Bruton Parish Church in Colonial WilliamsburgEach semester ends with a choral concert at Phi Beta Kappa Hall, which features the entire choral department; The Women’s Chorus, The Choir, and The Botetourt Chamber Singers
