Be the Match on Campus

Be the Match on Campus aims to provide meaningful, unique opportunities for students to learn about blood cancers and other life-threatening diseases treated by a blood stem cell transplant. The organization will hold campuswide education and awareness events, donor registration and fundraising events and activities to give the entire student body the opportunity to join in this social movement and global effort.

ChessU

ChessU provides a place for students to talk about and play chess once a week. To join ChessU, students can join the organization’s Discord through Discord’s Syracuse University Student Hub or follow the link on ChessU’s Instagram account.

Crisis Communications Club

The purpose of the Crisis Communications Club is to add insight into crisis communication that helps serve the public. The club plans to conduct projects that align with the mission of building awareness and insight into how individuals and organizations can manage risks and crises to help promote positive outcomes, such as safety, trust and societal well-being.

Crocheting for the ‘Cuse Community

Crocheting for the ‘Cuse Community (CCC) aims to create a safe space where students can learn crochet techniques, regardless of prior experience. CCC will collectively learn to create garments that will be donated to several community organizations in the Syracuse area, as well as bring awareness to environmentally friendly fashion and how crochet can serve as a sustainable alternative to overconsumption.

Live from Studio B!

Live from Studio B! is a fully student-operated late-night comedy show that broadcasts episodes live on the Orange Television Network biweekly on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. The mission of Live from Studio B! is to foster a fun and supportive environment for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of broadcast television.

National Association of Black Accountants

National Association of Black Accountants Syracuse University Chapter (NABA SU Chapter) has a mission to promote generational wealth amongst the Black community, as well as help students of color have better access to professional development and opportunities that will build success post-graduation. NABA has a massive network of people of color in various professional fields across the U.S.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is the go-to place for all things Orthodox Christian on campus. The OCF has weekly meetings and church visits, as well as activities like monastery trips, potlucks, picnics and more. The OCF also holds religious events like icon and prayer rope workshops, prayer events and bible studies.

Quiz Bowl Association

Quiz Bowl Association is the home of trivia-based competitions on campus, offering academic and non-academic based trivia competition in a similar manner to NBC’s Capital One College Bowl. Quiz Bowl Association is the recognized organization to compete in National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) and Academic Competition Federation (ACF) competitions for Syracuse University. The Quiz Bowl Association practices Quiz Bowl questions and packets weekly and attends competitions monthly.

The Juvenile Urban Multicultural Program

The purpose of The Juvenile Urban Multicultural Program (J.U.M.P. Nation) is to promote higher education to students who are at risk of dropping out of high school. To accomplish their mission, J.U.M.P. Nation brings eighth grade students from Syracuse area junior high schools to the Syracuse University campus for a biannual “JUMPstart to College Leadership Summit,” an all-expense-paid day of forums and interactive workshops. J.U,M.P. Nation also hosts “Real Talk” sessions at local schools, where members mentor students and provide a safe space to engage in open discussions on vulnerable topics.

The Kumquat

The Kumquat is Syracuse’s University’s parody “news” source. The Kumquat will not only entertain the Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF community, but also present news through a satirical, and sometimes critical, lens, using humor to analyze current events, pop culture and campus news and present it in an engaging way. The Kumquat posts articles and videos to their website and regularly shares humorous “headlines” to their Twitter account, @SUKumquat.

The SENSES Project

The SENSES Project explores the impact of sound recording on Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students’ sense of belonging. The project focuses on two forms of sound recording: podcasting and music creation.  The SENSES Project is a diversity and inclusion project that encourages nuanced discussion across differences and uses music as way to emphasize our shared humanity, all while offering the opportunity to build marketable skills in sound production.

Undergraduate Anthropology Club

The Undergraduate Anthropology Club intends to unite undergraduate students with a shared interest in anthropology. Students will have the chance to connect with peers, faculty and the broader anthropology network. The club welcomes any student interested in anthropology; you don’t need to major or minor in the subject to join!

Undergraduate Organization of Geosciences

The objective of the Undergraduate Organization of Geosciences is to connect students to opportunities within the earth and environmental sciences community. This includes informing students of on- and off-campus opportunities, being introduced to undergraduate research opportunities within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and having the opportunity to practice amongst peers presenting scientific information.
