To the Barnes Center and Beyond!

The Barnes Center at The Arch is here, and it’s pretty incredible. But did you know the Barnes Center’s reach extends way beyond it’s walls! There are so many programs and services that you can take advantage of if you’re on the Quad, in your residence hall, meeting with your student org or even on your phone! Check out some of these highlights on how the Barnes Center at The Arch goes to infinity and beyond!

It’s a space for every student who attends to have open and honest communication that will build connections with others and lead to more self-exploration. You don’t need to be outgoing, spiritual nor perfect. You just have to be you! Applications for the Saturday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Oct. 27 retreat are open! Spaces are limited, so apply today! Learn more at the Barnes Center website.

Outdoor Adventure Trips

Speaking of getting off campus, why not try a trip full of outdoor recreation and exploration?! Activities like horseback riding, apple picking, snowboarding and so much more! Learn more about the trips available on the Barnes Center website. Sanvello

There used to be this mobile app called Pacifica that would help people manage their feelings and any anxiety or depression they may be experiencing, but now it’s called Sanvello, and it’s even better! And the best part? The Barnes Center partners with them to offer you free, premium access with your Syracuse email! Access tons of free guided meditation sessions, set personal goals, track your mood and journal all on your phone. It can even create a personalized plan with helpful suggestions based on your current mood to help you manage any stress or anxiety you may have. You’ll be able to track your progress and work on feeling better.

We know an app may not always be the help you’re looking for, so if you’re struggling to manage stress, anxiety or depression, go to the Barnes Center and speak with a counselor. They’re here to help. Make an appointment in the Patient Portal, or by calling 315.443.8000.

Safer Sex Express

Health Hub

You’ve likely seen a cute little orange and blue pop-up around campus. That the Health Hub! The Health Hub pops up in a new location a few times a week with games and prizes surrounding a different health and wellness topic. The best part? Visit ten times during your time on campus, and win a premium water bottle – one of those insulated metal ones that’s iridescent! Just be sure to swipe your SU I.D.

And here’s a Peel exclusive: there’s a new way to interact with the Health Hub coming Friday, Sept. 27! Keep your eyes peeled on Marshall Street and up around Watson Hall from 1-3 p.m.
