Mehrzad Boroujerdi is Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He also serves as the Provost Faculty Fellow for Internationalization as well as the O’Hanley Faculty Scholar.
Dr. Boroujerdi interests lie in comparative politics, Middle Eastern politics and in studying political elites. He is currently engaged in a large scale study of political elite in post-revolutionary Iran.
Dr. Boroujerdi is the author of Iranian Intellectuals and the West: The Tormented Triumph of Nativism. In addition to more than thirty journal articles and book chapters in English and Persian he is also the editor of Mirror for the Muslim Prince: Islam and Theory of Statecraft. He has been interviewed by the AP, BBC, LA Times, NPR, New York Times, Reuters, VOA, and Washington Post.
