Professor of Economics, Public Administration and International Affairs and the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair in Public Affairs

Amy Ellen Schwartz is Professor of Economics, Public Administration and International Affairs and the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair in Public Affairs at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Her interests include education policy, public finance and urban economics. Her research examines the relationship between student performance, housing and neighborhood change; public intervention for childhood obesity; immigration and mobility in urban schools; and the efficacy of school reforms.

Dr. Schwartz’s research has focused on urban economic development including work on Business Improvement Districts, housing investment, school choice and investment in infrastructure, among other issues in public finance.
