The 2016-17 Faculty Recognition Awards program sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Goldstein Alumni and Faculty Center.

The program will recognize the two recipients of the Laura and L. Douglas Meredith Professorship for Teaching Excellence, six recipients of the Meredith Teaching Recognition Awards, the United Methodist Scholar Teacher of the Year and the recipient of the Meredith Medallion.

The winners of the 2017 Meredith Professorship are Sanjay Chhablani, professor of law, and Jackie Orr, associate professor of sociology in the Maxwell School.

This year’s recipients of Meredith Teaching Recognition Awards include Todd Berger and Cora True-Frost, both professors in the College of Law; Jeff Gonda, history, and Jonnell Robinson, geography, both from the Maxwell School; Paul Prescott, philosophy, College of Arts and Sciences; and Shikha Nangia, biomedical and chemical engineering, College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Thomas Perreault, professor of geography at the Maxwell School, has been named United Methodist Scholar Teacher of the Year, and Ravi Dharwadkar, professor of management at the Whitman School, will receive the Meredith Medallion. The Medallion is presented to a Meredith Professor at the end of his or her third year of active status.

The awards program is open to all, and a reception will follow at the conclusion of the program.
