Thursday Morning Roundtable Focuses on the Revitalization of Downtown Syracuse
Thursday Morning Roundtable (TMR) returns Thursday, Sept. 13, with guest speaker Merike Treier, executive director of the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, talking about the revitalization of downtown Syracuse and upcoming projects. The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St., Syracuse.
TMR is sponsored by Syracuse University’s Office of Community Engagement. The series brings together a mix of citizens representing business, nonprofit, educational and government organizations to examine community issues. Since its inception in 1965, more than 1,600 programs have been delivered.
Other speakers this month are:
- Stephanie Pasquale, commissioner of the Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, who will discuss the current and upcoming projects of her department and Mayor Ben Walsh’s vision for the City of Syracuse (Sept. 20); and
- Chris Steele, COO and president, North America, of Investment Consulting Associates, and Jim Damicis, senior vice president of Carmoin Associates, who will present concepts and regional trends in economic development and community support, including examples of success stories achieved by similar communities in the Northeast (Sept. 27).
