This means administrative staff is not required to report to campus. Essential services employees are asked to report as previously scheduled, if they are able to do so in a safe manner.
Though classes are not in session due to Spring Break, many essential student services will still be available, including Schine dining (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) and Goldstein Student Center dining (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). Additionally, Archbold and Flanagan gymnasiums will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other essential services that will remain available to students include:
- The Counseling Center;
- Health Services;
- Office of Residence Life;
- The Schine and Goldstein student centers; and
- SU Libraries. [Update, 2 p.m. March 14, 2017: Bird and Carnegie libraries will be closing today at 4 p.m. due to continued inclement weather.]

However, in the event of continued inclement weather and if a change to tomorrow’s operating status becomes necessary, it will be announced via the University’s emergency broadcast notification system. Information about the University’s operating status will also be announced:
- via campus e-mail;

- on news.syr.edu and syracuse.edu; and
