Top Down—Bottom Up: A Series on Climate Solutions
A group of faculty members from all the schools and colleges at Syracuse University presents a curated series of events throughout the academic year, focusing on top-down and bottom-up strategies for combating climate disruption. The first events in the series take place on Thursday, Sept. 29, when Eban Goodstein, director of graduate studies in sustainability at Bard College, will be on campus to give two talks:
2 p.m., Grant Auditorium: “Republicans, Democrats and Sustainability: Recovering Bipartisan Environmental Politics”
3:30 p.m., 132 Lyman Hall: “How to Get a Job Saving the Planet: Sustainability Leadership Careers in Policy, Business, and NGOs”
The next event in the series will be a panel discussion on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m., about top-down and bottom-up drivers of renewable energy, with an expert on the highly successful German economic model for promoting renewables, together with at least one expert on the local Solarize CNY initiative.
A number of other events related to the theme, taking place on campus and in the community, are also listed on the Top Down—Bottom Up website.
