Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course Begins April 29
Syracuse University faculty and staff are invited to participate in an eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course beginning April 29. The MBSR program uses meditation and yoga to teach participants to relate differently to managing all kinds of stressors in their lives. A few specific benefits and skills learned during the eight-week course include greater balance, ease and peace of mind; improved concentration; and practical coping skills to improve your ability to handle stressful situations.
Drop-in information sessions to meet the instructor and learn more about the eight-week course will be held:
- Monday, April 20, noon-1 p.m. Skytop Large Conference Room, second floor
- Tuesday, April 21 noon-1 p.m. 500 Hall of Languages
The eight-week session will run for eight consecutive Wednesdays, April 29-June 15, 5:15-7:15 p.m., 500 Hall of Languages. There will also be a half-day retreat on Saturday, June 13, in the same room.
The cost for SU faculty and staff is $40 for the full eight-week program. Space is limited.
