New Living SU Website Connects Students to Campus Life
The Division of Student Affairs has recently launched a new and improved website to better help students connect to the programs, services, opportunities and events supported by the 20-plus offices within the organization. LivingSU.syr.edu is the pulse of campus life for SU students. It bridges the gap between students and the experiences and resources available to them through the division, so they can make the most out of their campus-life experience.
Some highlights of the website include a customized search engine (which can be improved with feedback), filtered calendar of student-sponsored and campus-life events, social media hub, sharing functions and office descriptions with locations.
“We hope that this significant enhancement to our website will provide students with a far more streamlined and fun approach to accessing information about the many things to do at SU,” says Rebecca Reed Kantrowitz, interim senior vice president and dean of student affairs. “This is a wonderful multifaceted resource for students, and we are grateful to the students and staff who have helped imagine and implement this effort over the past year.”
The website and social media channels are supported by a team of students housed within the Student Affairs Communications Office. The students help populate and manipulate the website’s search engine, publish social media items and events, and create custom content for the social media channels that highlight the values of the division and SU’s campus culture: diversity and inclusivity, discovery, engagement, health and wellness, sustainability and safety.
