Chancellor Kent Syverud today announced the permanent expulsion of the Syracuse University Chapter of Theta Tau. Steps are also well underway to recommend charges against individual students involved in the disgusting video that surfaced online this week.
Memorial Service for Kay Moeckly Wiggins to Be Held June 28
A memorial service for professor emerita of nursing Kay Moeckly Wiggins will be held Friday, June 28, at 3 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.
Wiggins was a groundbreaking scholar, educator and administrator during a career of more than 40 years in nursing education, lovingly guiding the growth and accreditation of the College of Nursing at Syracuse University. She graduated from Britton High School in 1952, Texas Christian University in 1956, received her master’s degree in nursing education from New York University in 1963 and earned her Ph.D. in child and family studies in 1983 at Syracuse University.
Wiggins was a revered member of the College of Nursing faculty from 1964-1995, and was honored with professor emerita status upon her retirement. Countless SU nursing alumni attribute their expertise in maternal child health to Wiggins. She was a trusted and beloved advisor to hundreds of aspiring and established nursing professionals throughout her career and afterward.
