Message from Chancellor Cantor
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
With the many connections our campus community has to Boston and the greater New England area, our thoughts this morning are with all those affected by the explosions that occurred yesterday afternoon at the Boston Marathon.
When an intentional act of violence such as this happens, we rightly feel a wide range of emotions—fear, sadness, anger or helplessness. As we always do, we come together as a University community to provide comfort and support to each other. While we each are affected differently, the University has a wide array of counseling services available to every member of the campus community. The Counseling Center (315-443-4715), Hendricks Chapel (315-443-2901) and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (315-443-1087) are all available to anyone who feels he or she needs support.
In addition, if any student, faculty, staff or other member of our campus community has been directly impacted in some way by yesterday’s incident, we have many resources and services that can be of help and assistance. We encourage you to contact the Office of Student Assistance at 315-443-4357 or the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program noted above.
On behalf of the entire SU community, our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by yesterday’s tragedy.
