Director of Financial Aid announces retirement
SU Financial Aid director Kaye Devesty has announced her retirement, effective July 1.
In an email to colleagues, associate vice president for enrollment management and director of scholarships and student aid Ryan Williams praised Devesty’ s long and influential SU career, which began in 1977: “Kaye’s positive influence has been enormous, both within the University community and for so many students and families across the country,” says Williams. “Anyone who has worked with Kaye can attest to her caring nature and deliberate judgment.”
Devesty has successfully managed hundreds of millions of dollars of SU financial aid over the years, enabling thousands of students to realize their potential with an SU education. Under her direction, the Financial Aid Office also launched many initiatives, including the Money Awareness (MAP) and the I Otto Know This programs; the implementation of the Net Price Calculator; and the recent development of the SU Shopping Sheet.
“We’re grateful for Kaye’s long-standing commitment to students and families,” says Williams, “and just as pleased that she will be with us for the next six months. That time will allow me to work closely with Kaye and key staff to plan a smooth transition.”
