Whitman graduate Salas ’12 to serve as communicator of SU Career Services
Syracuse University Career Services has announced the appointment of J. Magnolia Salas ’12 as its new communication and marketing coordinator. In this role, Salas will manage communications, marketing and outreach efforts to promote full awareness and use of Career Services by SU students. She will also coordinate the department’s web and social media presence, as well as evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance the office’s marketing priorities.
Salas graduated from SU’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, majoring in marketing and entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises. During her time as an undergraduate student, Salas completed several interesting marketing internships, studied abroad in Madrid and served as fundraising chair for Delta Sigma Pi. She is also a licensed New York City tour guide.
In this position, Salas will take a personal approach to marketing Career Services to students. She will build relationships with student groups and create targeted presentations for the needs of specific organizations. Salas welcomes opportunities for collaboration and looks forward to working with faculty and staff across campus to enhance the experiences of SU students while in college and beyond.
“I am very excited to join Career Services as its new communication and marketing coordinator,” says Salas. “I will deeply enjoy this opportunity to apply my experience and training as a Syracuse University student to help all students find their own professional passions.”
“As a recent Syracuse University graduate, Magnolia will bring unique insights for engaging the student population and helping them understand the importance of attending to their career development needs throughout their time in college,” says Mike Cahill, director of Career Services.
