Orange Grove ready for Orange Central
An expansion project on the picturesque Orange Grove on the south side of the Kenneth A. Shaw Quad is now complete and ready to be showcased during Orange Central.
The expansion offers more space for alumni and friends to remember others by having their names engraved in granite, and to honor those individuals who have made this University the outstanding institution it is today.
The project eliminated vehicular traffic in the corridor between Archbold North and the Physics Building, extending past Carnegie Library and Bowne Hall. The Orange Grove is now a pedestrian corridor of walkways lined with trees and plantings. The primary walking surface is paver brick with wide bands of concrete on both sides for wheelchair access.
The expansion project was completed by SU’s Campus Planning, Design and Construction.
