BBI hosts virtual celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities
In celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University and the Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) at American University will host a virtual lunch event from noon-1 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 2.
This year’s theme is “Together for a better world for all: Including persons with disabilities in development.” International Day of Persons with Disability is a United Nations-sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. The day also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of the integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
The session will be offered at no cost and will be held entirely virtually to provide speakers and participants from around the world the opportunity to participate. To watch or participate in the live webcast of the event, click here or listen via phone at 877-826-6967 (ID: 1188194).
