The Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE) program in the Whitman School of Management is highlighted in a Bloomberg Businessweek article on best college undergraduate business programs that excel. The magazine ranked the EEE program third in the nation for specialty programs in March.
The spring 2011 issue of Philanthropy Magazine includes a feature, “Expanding Entrepreneurship,” on two donor-led programs that are reaching out to overlooked populations. The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), founded in 2007 at the Whitman School of Management, is featured. Mike Haynie, Barnes Fellow, assistant professor of entrepreneurship and founder/national executive director of EBV is quoted, in addition to program donors Martin J. Whitman ’49, SU Trustee Richard L. Haydon ’66, SU Trustee Steven Barnes ’82, Ted Lachowicz ’72 and EBV participants Brian Iglesias (2009) and John Raftery (2007).
A CBS New York story on the death of NY Daily News cartoonist Bill Gallo mentions the collection of 900 of his works at Syracuse University Library.
The Buffalo News makes note of the Whitman School of Management Case Competition in a roundup mentioning honors for University of Buffalo MBA students in the competition.

Daniel R. DePetris, a master’s student in the Maxwell School, authored a commentary for Eurasia Review on Syrian political demonstrations generating a complex set of choices for the United States.
Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in the Christian Science Monitor on the future of daytime television programming, as well as jetpacks and flying cars. He is also quoted in a McClatchy wire article on hip-hop artist Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr. at the White House.
