SU Showcase Fellows application deadline extended
Students scrambling to apply for one of the limited number of SU Showcase Fellow spots can stress less now because they’ve been given a little extra time.
Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry students and student organizations now have until Friday, April 8, to submit their SU Showcase Fellow applications. If selected, fellows can receive up to $250 each to create prototypes or displays of their work for presentation at SU Showcase on May 2 in the Schine Student Center.
Students and student groups whose work relates to global environmental change or sustainability are invited to apply to be Showcase Fellows. Approximately 10 fellows will be chosen. In addition to being featured at SU Showcase, fellows will have their work published in an online anthology of student research on sustainability.
Students from any discipline are welcomed and encouraged to creatively incorporate some aspect of sustainability in their coursework and to share it as a Showcase Fellow. There are also many other opportunities for SU and SUNY-ESF students, faculty and staff to help create the SU Showcase “green museum” at the Schine Center. These include courses; setting up displays; giving presentations; groups holding informational tables or display space; group performances; and individuals volunteering to help with event activities.
To submit a Showcase Fellow application, and for more information on participating in SU Showcase, visit the SU Showcase website registration page at http://sushowcase.syr.edu/Registration_2011.html.
