The Post-Standard profiled Mary Kiernan, instructor in the department of hospitality management in the College of Human Ecology.  Kiernan was named 2010 Chef of the Year by the American Culinary Federation’s Syracuse chapter.

A photo on today’s Post-Standard opinion page showed a group from Syracuse University marching in last Saturday’s CNY Pride Parade in downtown Syracuse.

WSYR-TV reported on yesterday’s Chase Corporate Challenge, noting that Syracuse University fielded the largest group of registered participants.

The Central New York Business Journal reported on Syracuse University’s new partnership with Upstate Venture Connect.

FACULTY QUOTES

Gustav Niebuhr, associate professor of religion and media in the College of Arts and Sciences and S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, co-authored an op-ed on Middle East peacemaking for the Washington Post’s “On Faith” blog.

Mike Haynie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, was quoted in the July 2010 issue of Entrepreneur magazine on the link between the military and entrepreneurship.  Two graduates of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities were also quoted.

Whitman School professors Elet Callahan, professor of law and public policy, and Amanda Nicholson, assistant professor of retail management, were quoted in the July 2010 issue of the Futurist on new business leaders.
