The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will award the first annual Major Henry “Hank” S.N. Ofeciar Award for Leadership on Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. in Room 402 of the Whitman School building. Ofeciar ’05 ACP/DCP was killed in August 2007 in Afghanistan as a result of his service during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The first recipient of the award named in his honor is MBA student Victor M. Castillo.
The award will be presented by Melvin T. Stith, dean of the Whitman School. Lt. Gen. David Melcher will be in attendance, representing the U.S. Army. Also attending will be the Whitman Defense Comptrollership Program (DCP) Class 2008; Maj. Kathleen P. Neumann, representing the DCP Class 2005; and Angali Medappa, Ofeciar’s wife.
