Small businesses in Central New York interested in international business need look no further than their own community for information. Thanks to the Kiebach Center in International Business Studies in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, specialized forums are held monthly throughout the Syracuse area to help small businesses enter the global market.
The next International Business Forum will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. The event begins with breakfast at 8 a.m. and will be followed by a seminar at 8:30 a.m. The forum will feature guest speaker Sylvain Auger, international development commissioner of Victoriaville, Quebec.
Auger’s lecture will focus on the SESAME network, which includes 15 regional capitals. Members of SESAME meet annually to exchange experiences in municipal management and offer companies worldwide business opportunities. Businesses attending the event will receive information on the 2007 SESAME meeting to be held in Victoriaville, Quebec.
The business forum series is organized by the Central New York International Business Alliance (CNYIBA), a partnership of the Kiebach Center, Mohawk Customs and Shipping, JP Morgan Chase Bank and Ernst & Young. The forum is designed to help business leaders in the Syracuse area take greater advantage of international business opportunities. Businesspersons who attend the forum are able to further develop the tools necessary for success through learning the latest advances in international business technology. The forums also give local businesses an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with one another.
