The chaplains of Syracuse University’s Hendricks Chapel will conduct a memorial service Friday, Dec. 21, at 2:03 p.m. in the chapel’s Noble Room to honor those who died aboard Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on this same date 13 years ago.
The Rev. Christine Day, Episcopal chaplain, will lead the service. Also participating will be the Rev. Thomas V. Wolfe, dean of Hendricks Chapel; the Rev. Thomas Davenport, interdenominational Protestant chaplain; Sister Patricia Larkin, Roman Catholic co-director; the Rev. Fritz Lampe, Lutheran chaplain, Imam Ahmed Kobeisy, Islamic chaplain; and the Rev. Michael McQuitty, Baptist chaplain.
Following the service, those in attendance will proceed to the Place of Remembrance, accompanied by the ringing of the Crouse College chimes, which will sound 35 times in memory of the 35 SU students killed aboard Pan Am 103.
At the Place of Remembrance, Dean Wolfe will recite a message on behalf of the Chaplains Council.
