The St. Thomas More Foundation at Syracuse University’s Alibrandi Catholic Center will present “Cabaret 2001” April 30 and May 1 at the Center, 110 Walnut Place. The event begins at 6 p.m. both evenings. “Cabaret 2001” will feature the talents of 10 SU Drama Department students and other area performers. The student actors, under the direction of assistant professor Frederick Willard, will present an “Alan J. Lerner Review,” featuring music and dialogue from legendary productions such as “Brigadoon,” “Paint Your Wagon,” “My Fair Lady,” “Camelot” and “Gigi.” “The rich talent of our student performers promises to make ‘Cabaret 2001’ a spirited and fun event,” says the Rev. Adam Keltos, OFM, Conv., chaplain at the Alibrandi Catholic Center. “We hope these two wonderful evenings of entertainment will bring those from the University community and the greater Syracuse community together to celebrate their support of Catholic campus ministry at Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF).” In addition to the student actors, popular Syracuse entertainers Bonnie Nye, Frank Furmano and Lisa Bradenberg will perform selections from popular Broadway shows. Peter and Marilyn Cappuccilli of Syracuse are honorary chairpersons for the event. As director of the New York State Fair, Peter Cappuccilli has helped set new attendance marks for the fair in each of the last two years. A light supper by Karen’s Catering and desserts by Biscotti will be served. A cash bar will be available. Established in 1939, the St. Thomas More Foundation at the Alibrandi Catholic Center supports Catholic campus ministry at SU and ESF. Today, more than 4,000 Catholic students are served by the independent foundation and center. Seating for “Cabaret 2001” is limited. Tickets are $65 per person; a table of 10 is $650. To purchase tickets, contact the Alibrandi Catholic Center at 443-2600 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
